Performance vaultingPerformance vaulters attend competitions and demonstrations throughout the year. Practice is twice a week for 2 hours, a total of 4 hours per week. Classes consist of warm-up, stretching, barrel work, gymnastics, dance, choreography, and horse work. Individual, pairs and team events are taught. Levels vary from preliminary trot to gold. Class size not to exceed 10 vaulters. Vaulters are expected to provide approved music for their routines. Vaulters are required to purchase vaulting shoes, uniforms and warm-ups. They are also responsible for AVA membership and travel fees to shows and demonstrations. Vaulters must be at least 7 years old.

Recreational VaultingRecreational vaulters practice at home and learn basic skills to gain confidence around horses. Practice is once a week for 45 minutes up to 1 1/2 hours, dependent upon class size and vaulter age. Classes consist of grooming and tacking-up, warm-up, stretching, basic gymnastics, dance, choreography and horse exercises. Individual, pairs and team exercises are taught. Levels vary from walk to trot. Vaulters are encouraged to provide music for their routines. Vaulters are required to purchase vaulting shoes.

Individual Vaulting - HorseThis private lesson is taught by Katy and is 1 hour long. Attention is on individual compulsory and freestyle routines.

Individual Vaulting - BarrelThis private lesson is taught by Jody and is 30 minutes long. Focus is on conditioning, stretching, gymnastics, choreography, and preparing for performances.

Please note for all classes: Vaulters must have their hair secured back, wear snug-fitting, stretchy clothes, and wear appropriate footwear.
